Santa Maria

Some time ago I bought myself a new Canon printer. In the software package was a link to their Creative Park where you can download free printable models. I tried it, liked it, and now I spend my evenings with paper, scissors, and glue from time to time.

The other day I glued together a paper model of Columbus' ship, the Santa Maria. But I wanted to make more than just a model, and the idea of a simple diorama appeared. I made a sea out of aluminum foil and a starry sky out of cardboard with holes. I put the camera in long exposure mode and painted the composition with the glowing screen of a smartphone. The result was the photo "To New Shores".
