On the weekend in August, we spontaneously decided to go to the Czech Republic. Alternatively, we considered the beach and the sea in Poland, but the Baltic Sea cannot compete with Italy: a week ago we returned from there from a "big" vacation. Therefore, we chose mountains with unpleasant hot water. "Tastes like blood, salty and warm" - the summary of my son after the only sip of the praised water. But he kept the mug with an interesting spout for himself.
As we arrived, we tried first the national cuisine: goulash in a loaf and dumplings with meat, and we liked it. We drank delicious beer and then we went to see the city.
All photos are in chronological order.
Nice old building surrounded by concrete and mountains.
Patterns in the sky - an ensemble of lanterns and clouds
Lantern and tiled roof. False Ionic columns between the windows.
Signage. Nothing in our world without advertising.
Another lantern. Using perspective, I raised it above the mountains.
I'm adding another one to my collection of funny stickers, for being pixel art. It's just not clear whether it's a chicken, turkey or lamb? What's your choice?
Along the river
People on the bridge. Impressionism through reflection
Glass and concrete, brutalism in a fairytale city
There's something hidden here, though no one is hiding anything
Hotel mimics a medieval castle
Two towers, two dials. Why?
Head up to the sky, and from there they stare back.
Lanterns by the colonnade at dusk.
Evening in Carlsbad
I wanted to capture the passage of a lone passerby between the columns, but not at this time of year, with the crowds of tourists around. The girl on the left stood in this strange pose for about ten minutes while her friend stared mesmerised into her phone. There's a hot spring near them, the water must have had that effect.
